La Vida Llena

Nestled in desert's embrace

Aging with grace, Blooms

-- A haiku, by ChatGPT

Water Haiku

Water has one taste
when thirsty and another
when I’ve drunk my fill

Another dark night

this time

sitting out on my deck.

Staring

into the unreturning blackness.

A wispy shape

loomed up beyond the deck railing.

In the simple black night

this was the most real thing around;

I could have ignored it

and I thought of doing just that;

but no,

you start filtering out that stuff and pretty soon it goes away for good.

Dare I ask: "Are you here for me?",

But, from past experience, that can be a hair whitening embrace.

So, I kept my mouth shut.

It was just me and a spirit facing each other in the dark.

I bet I scared him as much as he scared me.
